Daniel L. Robey

Daniel L. Robey leads the first and third-party practice for the firm’s Northern Virginia office. Mr. Robey is an experienced civil litigation defense attorney, having handled hundreds of cases involving complex coverage, personal injury, property damage, product liability, and construction defects.
Mr. Robey was the Mid-Atlantic regional operations manager for Nationwide Insurances’ Trial Division, heading up Robey, Teumer, Drash, Kimbrell & Counts, where he litigated large loss cases and insurance coverage cases in state and federal courts, while contributing as an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the Nationwide Trial Division Advocacy Program. He has been a litigator in Virginia and the District of Columbia since 1976.
AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Robey was listed in The American Lawyer and The National Law Journal publications in their “Top Rated Lawyers in Commercial Litigation.” He is included in The Best Lawyers in America for insurance law and insurance litigation.
Mr. Robey earned his J.D. from George Mason University and his B.A. in history from Lebanon Valley College. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the United States Court Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Virginia Supreme Court. Mr. Robey is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and the Defense Research Institute.
Mr. Robey retired as a lieutenant colonel with the United States Army Reserve following 22 years of commissioned service. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the War on Terrorism Campaign Medal, among others, during his military career.
