Workers’ Compensation Defense Associate
We have an opening in the firm’s Richmond, VA office for an experienced associate (1 – 5 years) with strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills for our workers’ compensation or liability group. Experience handling all phases of workers’ compensation litigation including pretrial motions, depositions, expert witnesses and trial preparation necessary; some civil litigation experience a plus. Virginia Bar admission is required.

Workers’ Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant 
We are currently seeking a paralegal/legal assistant to join our Bristol office. The candidate must have the ability to multi-task, while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy at a high-volume law firm. The candidate will work in a team environment, but also will be expected to work independently, to prioritize tasks, and demonstrate time management with critical deadlines, organizational, and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Our caseload is expanding and the ideal candidate will have experience filing documents within the VA Workers’ Compensation claims system; all aspects of claim handling from intake; requesting and obtaining medical records; appeals; motions; speaking directly with clients and insurance adjusters; and settlements and client interaction. In addition, candidate will support attorney/s by managing calendars, creating, proofing, editing revising, and printing correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents.

Qualifications:
· The candidate must have a positive attitude and teamwork mentality;
· Candidate must have the ability to multi-task, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume case environment;
· Candidate must be able to work independently and demonstrate time management, organizational, and professional communication skills;
· Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks;
· Demonstrate proficiency and experience with computer software;
· Prior workers compensation experience is preferred, but not a mandatory requirement.

This position is an in-person, full time Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00pm.
